Opened in 2012, this new YMCA filled a major void in Kingsport, Tennessee and generated an immediate impact through its mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility within the local community. A unique feature of this Y is their partnership with the City Aquatic Center, where both organizations share access to the lobby and the pool center. Due to its overwhelming success and ever-increasing membership after opening its doors, the facility is currently undergoing an expansion after less than two years of being open. When complete with this round of expansion, the Y will include a walking track, teaching kitchen, additional meeting space, family adventure center, expanded wellness center, and an additional group exercise studio.
